The Allandale neighborhood is composed of about 2500 homes and is located in north central Austin, Tx. Its boundaries are effectively W. Anderson to the North, Mopac to the West, 45th St. to the South, and Burnet to the East. Most of the homes in Allandale are single story ranch style homes that were built in the 1960’s. The homes tend to average around 1500 to 2000 sqft. and are on average sized city lots with mature trees. Allandale has the largest neighborhood association amongst all central Austin neighborhoods according to the ANA.
The Allandale neighborhood is centered around Northwest Park which has a nice green space, pool, and baseball fields. Allandale is extremely popular destination for cyclists and runners in central Austin due to the neighborhoods protection from traffic and its smooth streets. Allandale is like many of Austin original neighborhoods in that it has quite a few of the original residents mixed with young families and professionals. Allandale has seen an increase in price as prospective owners and developers have realized that ranch style homes have good “bones” making them prime targets for remodels and additions. Prices for homes in Allandale range from 200K to 500k with the median price around 320K.
